In the course of its work, Who's Your Mate? Pet News™ may obtain personal information relating to writing articles, competitions, advertising clients in the event their private and personal data overlaps such as using the same phone number or operating a business from home.
This information may include name, telephone number, address in full or part of it, email address or addresses, job title; pet details such as name, age and breed; approximate date of competition entry, competition entry status. Nothing is to be shared with any third parties other than in the course of activity that is public by default, such as articles and competitions. At present the sole competition on the WYMPN site doesn't feature the owner's name publicly but this may be shared when announcing and congratulating winners.
Personal data usage may include correspondence such as emails between WYMPN and the person or for sending a prize, corroborating correspondent identity, logging reports relating to the typo jar so I don't double up, informing the relevant authorities in the event of suspected criminal activity such as threats, veiled or otherwise, attempted bribery or mondey laundering, and animal cruelty (let's hope it never comes to that).
We don't sell anyone's data but may store details such as name, telephone number, address, email, job title, and pet details, as part of an encrypted spreadsheet on a multi-factor protected Google account for the duration of its relevance such as during an ongoing competition and either up to six months on from when it is used last or indefinitely upon the data holder's (i.e. the user, reader, contact etc's) agreement.
The content management system (CMS) database only stores data for publication so in essence the information is public by default. At present WYMPN intends to keep track of substantial article changes in a private Google document or spreadsheet to serve as an archive. Any change such as further developing the CMS would be notified to the public in a short article.
Personal information is securely stored on Google's servers.
Automatic logging provided by the hosting service logs the following visitor data: IP address, URL visited, referring URL, size of data transferred in bytes, and user agent, namely the browser for 30 days. Information is then deleted automatically by the hosting service.
Who's Your Mate? Pet News™ might on occasion copy log details to a database stored also on Google's servers for up to six months due to suspicious activity.
